Birds of Prey: Guardians of New Gotham
Birthday: Dec. 21
Hometown: Queens, NY

Batman fans will tell you that Dina Meyer's character - the niece of Commissioner Gordon who moonlighted as Batgirl - is the one to watch this fall. To get into tough-chick mode, Meyer had to do some serious research. "People think I'm tough, but I'm really warm and fuzzy," admits the actress.

My character Oracle is: "Very complex. Oracle is a hacker who controls everything from the clocktower. The other two girls are her muscle."

Oracle's greatest challenge is: "Not being able to use her body. She went from being a young, eager crime fighter to a woman who has to sit on her instincts - literally."

When it comes to doing Birds of Prey justice, I have: "A lot to learn. I was never really a big comic book person. I was a real girly girl. I liked Wonder Woman because of the cool outfits and bracelets."

Oracle's greatest secret weapon is: "Stick fighting. Evidently, she is quite adept at escrima. That's the Filipino art of stick fighting. Other than that, we just don't know...yet."

Already a favorite among science-fiction fans, Dina Meyer came to The WB as Barbara Gordon and her alter-ego, Oracle, in the action-adventure series Birds of Prey. Dina most recently starred in FOX's supernatural drama Point Pleasant.

Born and raised in Queens, N.Y., Dina studied dance throughout her childhood and loved performing on stage in dance recitals. She knew she wanted to act from an early age and was even accepted into New York's High School of Performing Arts, but her parents convinced her to follow a more traditional academic path. She majored in Business Administration and minored in French at Long Island University and attended the Sorbonne in Paris. After graduation, however, she decided to pursue her acting again and studied under Ron Stetson.

Dina made her film debut opposite Keanu Reeves in the action-thriller Johnny Mnemonic. She went on to star with Dennis Quaid in the feature film Dragonheart. Additional film credits include a starring role in Starship Troopers and Bats. Dina can also be seen in Star Trek: Nemesis as the Romulan Commander Donatra.

Television fans will recognize Dina from her role on the Aaron Spelling phenomenon Beverly Hills, 90210, where she played the adulterous professor Lucinda Nicholson, who had a torrid affair with Jason Priestley's character, the role that brought her to Los Angeles. She also had a three-episode arc on Friends as Joey's love interest. Other television credits include Ally McBeal, Michael Hayes and, most recently, the critically acclaimed Golden Globe Award-winning series Six Feet Under.

Dina currently resides in Santa Monica. A fitness enthusiast, she enjoys rollerblading, snowboarding and doing Pilates.
